Teary Eye
By George Amadi
Fragrances of her foot-prints
Across my sad mind wafted;
In their wake, sorrow painted
But although I solace sighted.
When death’s cheating heart
Amazon, with courage gifted,
Feats completed to fell chose,
Undaunted, I solace sighted.
Our last meeting in this head
Still ringing, her expression of
Interest in a retiree’s life sore
Plight eased, I solace sighted.
To a teary eye, sorrow-soaked,
His castle’s love away spirited,
Voice of wise counsel silenced,
With God, he can only but win.
